I
am fortunate that Winnie, my 20 month Border Collie and I found
Four Paws K9 Training when she was 10 weeks old. I considered another
centre which didn't impress me, so I cam along for the introductory
talk at Four Paws. I liked what I heard and saw and the fact that
everyone seemed to be having fun.
Winnie
was a typical puppy, extremely active and bright with boundless
enthusiasm, and I knew I had a real challenge on my hands to calm
her behaviour and make her "socially acceptable".
We
signed up for puppy classes and have missed very few classes since
starting. Owner and puppy learn so much at training and I look forward
to Saturday mornings as much as Winnie does. Seeing your dog grow
and develop through the companionship and socialisation with other
dogs and watching them learning to follow commands and become obedience,
is very rewarding.
The
trainers at Four Paws K9 Training really care and have a wealth
of knowledge and experience. They are always available to answer
questions and to give advice on any specific problems or concerns
that may arise.
Today,
Winnie is an intelligent, loyal and loving dog who has moved through
the differet levels to be in Intermediate class and was chosen to
train with the Demo Team last year. She is obedient, well-behaved
around the house and loves people. She still has some minor problems
reacting towards some dogs, but I realise everything doesn't happen
at once and persistence is necessary.
Winnie
and I are working on her problems with the continous support from
all the trainers at Four Paws K9 Training.
