We are a privately-owned school providing ‘general companion obedience’ training for members of the public who just want better behaved dogs without unrealistic time restraints placed on their training.

The aim of Four Paws K9 Training is to provide ongoing quality dog obedience training and socialisation for your dog or pup, using positive, reward based motivational training techniques.

Whilst many other dog training schools claim to be the leaders in motivational based techniques, Four Paws K9 Training was one of the first schools in Melbourne to use this method and we specialise in its teaching and correct application based on the natural instincts of each dog and the ability of each handler..

All the instructors at Four Paws K9 Training are Certified (Certificate III in Dog Training & Behaviour), professional dog trainers and behavioural consultants who have received comprehensive instruction on canine behaviour, handling and psychology through The National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF). They attend regular workshops and seminars to further enhance their knowledge and to keep up to date with the latest techniques.

Our head instructor is a lecturer for the National Dog Trainers Federation, teaching many new 'would be'” instructors some of the necessary skills required to train dogs.

Senior trainers at Four Paws K9 Training have vast knowledge and carry many years experience in the field of dog training and canine psychology so you can be sure you are receiving sound advice.

We were awarded a Highly Recommended for customer service by the Australian Achiever Awards for 2006, as well as being recommended on Channel 7’s Melbourne Weekender TV program featuring Dr Katrina Warren.  For both of these, we are extremely proud.

Our Keilor Park venue is visited by our resident veterinarian each fortnight.  Dr Rebecca Bugg who runs Vetcall Mobile Vet service, visits the school and offers services like general check-ups, vaccinations, microchipping, flea treatments and health advice for dogs and pups.  At Four Paws, we fully support Responsible Pet Ownership.
